Lahore: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested 8 employees of the Food Department, including DFC Gujranwala, after the allegation of causing a loss of crores of rupees to the treasury in the wheat scandal was proven. The Anti-Corruption Establishment Gujranwala, during its investigation of the records, found that the staff of the Food Department caused a loss of 17 crores of rupees to the treasury by making fake bank vouchers and making fake receipts and making it part of the official records. On which the Anti-Corruption arrested DFC Muhammad Zaman, Assistant Muhammad Shabbir and Muhammad Tariq, Senior Clerks Muhammad Sharif, Abdul Ghaffar, Atiq-ur-Rehman, Qamar Rashid and Muhammad Ijaz of the Food Department. Efforts are underway to arrest Deputy Director Food Department Ahmed Nawaz, who is involved in the wheat scandal. Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatha has said that corrupt elements will be made an example of at all costs. He has directed officers to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against corrupt elements so that the scourge of corruption can be buried from Punjab forever.
