LAHORE, :Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has stressed the need to promote education about art, culture, music and film in educational institutions so that students can prove their abilities.
He expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of the first three-day International Creative Arts Conference ‘Celebrating 100 Years of Cinema in Lahore’ organized by the Department of Graphic Design, Punjab University in collaboration with the British Council and other institutions.
On this occasion, PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali, renowned film director Syed Noor, Chairman Department of Graphic Design Prof Dr Ahmad Bilal, people associated with different fields of the film industry, faculty members and a large number of students were present.
The minister said that change will not come through hollow slogans or promises alone, but everyone will have to come together and take steps that will enable a common man to reach the parliament.

Siddiqui said that he has passed by the Punjab University many times, but today feel happy and proud to speak in front of students. He said that if the youth from Punjab reach the parliament, there will be a revolution in Pakistan. He said that only those who earn their living by hanging from buses and giving tuition understand the problems of the country and have the ability to solve them. He said, “In Pakistan, the farmer is represented by the landlord, the laborer is represented by the capitalist and you and I are represented by families, which is a tragedy.” He said, “Completing the degree of students is just a milestone while the destination or goal of all of us should be the same for which Pakistan came into existence.”
