ISLAMABAD, ):The National Assembly on Monday passed five bills with majority votes, including the “Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (Amendment) Bill, 2025,” aimed at amending the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018.

Other bills passed included ,The “Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024,” which further amends the Civil Courts Ordinance, 1962, The “Pakistan Coast Guards (Amendment) Bill, 2024,” which seeks to amend the Pakistan Coast Guards Act, 1973,

Pakistani cuisine recipes
The “Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants (Amendment) Bill, 2025,” which amends the Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants Act, 2018 and  The “Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2025,” which amends the Emigration Ordinance, 1979.
All of these bills had previously been passed by the Senate. The bills were tabled in the House by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Azam Nazeer Tarar.
The Minister said that the “Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (Amendment) Bill” had been finalized in consultation with all relevant stakeholders. He further explained that the bill includes increased punishments for the culprits.
The Minister said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is taking this issue very seriously and has been holding multiple meetings to address it.

 

 

Additionally, the House referred the “Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2025” to the relevant committee for further deliberation.
