Lahore:On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, anti-narcotics operations are ongoing across the province under the vision of a Drug-Free Punjab. Sharing the details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that in the last 24 hours, 210 raids were conducted at drug dealers’ hideouts and 126 drug dealers were arrested. From the possession of the arrested suspects, 46 kilograms of hashish, 4 kilograms of ice (crystal meth), 12 kilograms of heroin, and 1241 liters of liquor were also recovered. IG Punjab directed that special operations against drug dealers and smugglers should be further intensified. All suspects involved in the drug supply chain should be brought within the grasp of the law and given strict punishments. IG Punjab further directed that actions against those involved in drug peddling in and around educational institutions and hostels should be expedited.
