ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday evening reached Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad to meet his aide Shahbaz Gill but the authorities did not allow him to inquire about his health.
Imran Khan was reached at PIMS from Bani Gali and a legal team of the PTI was also accompanied by him to brief the legal aspects of the torture of Shahbaz Gill during remand.
When the authorities disallowed meeting Shahbaz Gill who is admitted to the PIMS Hospital, Imran Khan told the media that he was not allowed to meet Shahbaz Gill so he will hold a rally to release him in Islamabad on Saturday.
Imran Khan said Shahbaz Gill was subjected to torture so people should take streets at all divisional headquarters of the country against the rulers’ brutality. The development came shortly after the former prime minister had said that the incarcerated PTI leader was “sexually abused” in custody, which is “most too gruesome to relate.” He urged all the people of the capital city to come out in the evening on August 20 after Maghrib prayers and join the PTI rally. “Rallies will be taken out from every divisional headquarters.”
Referring to Gill, the PTI chief went on to say that “if a political worker can be tortured like this” then this could happen to anyone.
