IGP Islamabad commended officers for their efforts, citing a 20% overall reduction in crime in 2025

Islamabad:According to the details, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi,
chaired high-level meetings to review the performance of senior officers, SDPOs and crime unit
in-charges. He assessed individual performance and assigned key tasks aimed at further
reducing the crime rate across the capital.IGP Islamabad commended officers for their efforts, citing a 20% overall reduction in crime in 2025. He reported significant decreases in banditry (19%), theft and robbery (12%), and armed robbery (74%). Vehicle and motorcycle thefts have also declined by 22% due to effectiveoperations by the Anti-Car Lifting Cell and local police stations.He directed officers to intensify search operations, target drug networks and tighten surveillance using Safe City cameras. He also emphasized enhanced patrolling and swift action against known criminal groups.“Due to effective policing and coordinated crackdowns, 600 fewer incidents were recorded this year compared to 2024,” said IGP Islamabad, adding that the Islamabad Police remains committed to ensuring public safety.Citizens are urged to cooperate with the police in building a peaceful and crime-free society.
