Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar said that a defeated enemy may attempt to harm national security through acts of terrorism. He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony at the Central Police Office held to distribute awards among outstanding officers and personnel. Dr. Usman Anwar presented awards to 23 officers and personnel from Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, and Traffic Police Multan. Punjab Police spokesperson shared further details, stating that a 10-member team from Dera Ghazi Khan was honored with commendation certificates and cash rewards for successfully repelling three consecutive attacks by extremist terrorists at the Lakhani and Jhangi check posts. A 7-member team from Sargodha Police received awards for promptly controlling a fire in the Tarkhanwala police station area and preventing it from spreading to residential areas. A 6-member team from Multan Traffic Police was recognized for increasing public participation in driving training schools through an awareness campaign.
