ISLAMABAD:The Sanitation Directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) will distribute over 200,000 biodegradable waste bags to citizens for hygienic disposal during Eid-ul-Azha 2025.It was approved in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Commissioner and DG Civil Defense Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Friday with senior officials from ICT Administration, CDA, District Municipal Administration (DMA), ICT Police, and other concerned departments in attendance.A citywide cleanliness campaign will be launched, with special focus on proper disposal of animal waste.The Sanitation Directorate (CDA) will ensure prompt collection of animal remains from designated points.
An awareness campaign will guide residents on proper waste disposal methods.ICT Police will increase surveillance at Eidgahs, markets, and public parks.Police help desks will be set up at major commercial centres for public assistance.Traffic police will implement a specialized parking and flow plan to prevent congestion.A 24/7 control room at Safe City Headquarters will monitor Eid operations.Free veterinary camps will be established at six Cattle Markets to assist citizens.Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh will be designated as official family parks for recreational activities.  Coordination with Murree Administration to manage expected tourist influx and traffic.Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that Eid-ul-Azha symbolizes faith, unity, and while also boosting economic activity.“CDA and ICT Administration are fully committed to ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. From enhanced sanitation to round-the-clock emergency services, all measures are in place for a hassle-free Eid, ” he stated.
