Lahore:On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman, Punjab Police has completed security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha. According to the Punjab Police Spokesperson, a comprehensive strategy has been formulated for the protection of mosques, Imambargahs, Eid congregations, and citizens across the province. Over 43,000 officers and personnel will perform duties for the security of 28,074 mosques and 890 open venues for Eid prayers across the province. 445 Quick Response Force teams will also be deployed for security arrangements. 11,912 metal detectors, 225 walk-through gates, and 10,466 CCTV cameras will also be used for Eid prayer security. In the provincial capital, Lahore, over 8,000 officers and personnel will be deployed for the security of more than 5,000 Eid prayer gatherings.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed for high alert security on Eid-ul-Adha and said that in light of the current border situation, security should be heightened across the province including Lahore. During Eid holidays, additional personnel should be deployed for the security of parks and recreational places. One Wheelig, aerial firing, kite flying, and rowdy behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The SOPs issued by the Government of Punjab regarding the collection of sacrificial animal hides must be strictly followed. Monitoring of all banned organizations and individuals included in the Fourth Schedule involved in illegal activities must be made more effective. Complete checking and clearance of all mosques, Imambargahs, and Eid grounds must be ensured before Eid prayers.Snipers should be deployed on the rooftops of A-category mosques and Imambargahs, while plain-clothed commandos should be deployed inside Eid congregations. DIG Traffic must personally supervise the traffic management plan across the province on Eid. Effective preventive measures must be taken to curb street crimes and highway robberies during Eid. Additional personnel should be deployed at all relevant points to ensure traffic flow on Eid-ul-Adha. During the Eid holidays, all resources should be utilized for the facilitation and protection of tourists in Murree and other tourist spots. The SOPs issued regarding the entry and exit of vehicles in Murree must be enforced.
