Punjab Police intensified the Crackdown Against Proclaimed Offenders and Court Absconders wanted in Serious Crimes Continues

Lahore:Punjab Police’s crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders wanted in heinous crimes is ongoing, under which a total of 75,694 proclaimed offenders have been arrested from across the province, including Lahore, during the current year. Punjab Police spokesperson, while sharing details, said that among those arrested are 26,280 proclaimed offenders of Category A and 49,414 of Category B. Additionally, 31,174 court absconders have been arrested from across the province, including 6,782 of Category A and 24,392 of Category B.The spokesperson further shared that 16,546 habitual offenders have also been arrested, including 6,311 of Category A and 10,235 of Category B. In the provincial capital Lahore alone, 16,353 proclaimed offenders, 12,316 court absconders, and 6,657 habitual offenders have been apprehended.Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended the police teams for arresting proclaimed offenders and court absconders. He emphasized that the crackdown against proclaimed offenders should continue with increased intensity across the province. IG Punjab instructed officers to bring dangerous criminals to justice through close coordination with complainants and effective information sharing. He further directed that RPOs and DPOs should personally supervise the operations for the arrest of dangerous proclaimed offenders.
