ISLAMABAD:In a city where unsolved murders once cast shadows over entire neighborhoods, Islamabad Police’s artificial intelligence-powered Sky Eye system is quietly rewriting the future of crime prevention. From recovering abducted children to identifying killers from fuzzy CCTV clips, the technology has already enabled over 2,700 arrests since its deployment. The most striking case was the blind murder of Abdullah in G-10, whose family had nearly lost hope after no eyewitnesses came forward. “The breakthrough came when Sky Eye traced the killer’s movement from a blurry camera angle, using AI-assisted face matching,” a senior officer of ICT Police told APP. The suspect was arrested within 48 hours.
In another high-profile incident, Sky Eye identified a man abducting a six-year-old girl in I-9 — a case that had terrified local residents. “The child was rescued the same day because the system triggered alerts by tracking license plates and movement patterns,” he said.
