RAWALPINDI : In a joint operation, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies have arrested a terrorist affiliated with Fitna al Khawarij and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition.A CTD spokesperson identified the terrorist as Musa. According to him, the arrest was made through an intelligence-based operation. The terrorist had already completed reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Rawalpindi in preparation for terrorist attacks, he added.He said the arrested terrorist had also recently filmed videos of sensitive locations and posted them on social media.He said that the terrorist had traveled to Afghanistan multiple times for training and was in contact with a key commander of the Khawarij group.The arms and explosives recovered from his custody included hand grenades, a 7-foot safety fuse wire, three detonators, a remote button, prima card, and bullets, he added.The spokesperson stated that a case has been registered against the terrorist and further investigation is underway.
