Muzaffargarh, Gujrat Town (Bureau Report, Special Correspondent) On the instructions of Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatha and Regional Director Anti-Corruption Dera Ghazi Khan Region Basharat Nabi, the Anti-Corruption Team in Muzaffargarh district successfully carried out a trap and arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector Mujahid Hussain red-handed while accepting a bribe. Najaf bin Naeem Syed Bukhari, resident of Mohalla Bukhariwala, had submitted a written application to the Anti-Corruption Team, alleging that Mujahid Hussain, former ASI Karam Dad Qureshi police station, had received a bribe of Rs 20,000 from him in return for returning the money, mobile phone and bicycle in custody during the investigation of case number 1204/24, but he is not returning the goods but is demanding another Rs 10,000. With the permission of the District and Sessions Judge Muzaffargarh and under the supervision of Civil Judge Sohail Khalid, the Anti-Corruption Team conducted a trap and arrested ASI Mujahid Hussain red-handed along with marked currency notes. The recovered amount of Rs 10,000 was seized and the accused was formally arrested. Case No. 11/2025 has been registered against the accused at the Anti-Corruption Police Station Muzaffargarh and further legal action has been initiated. According to Focal Person Anti-Corruption Dera Ghazi Khan Region Shamsher Khan Gormani, investigation against the accused is ongoing and no kind of corruption will be tolerated.
