KARACHI :The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has released the latest figures, showing that 3,278 new companies were registered in August 2025.This comes after SECP hit a record high in July by registering 4,065 companies in a single month.According to the regulator, 99 per cent of registrations were done digitally, bringing the total number of registered companies across the country to 265,587.Breaking down the numbers, 59 per cent were private limited companies and 39 per cent were single-member firms.The IT and e-commerce sectors led the way with 670 new companies, showing how tech is taking center stage in Pakistan’s business landscape.The SECP further reported that 78 foreign companies were also registered last month. Other key sectors included construction (297 companies), tourism (242), textiles (76) and pharmaceuticals (69).In addition, as many as 383 companies were registered in fuel and energy, power generation, steel, and sports sectors, highlighting the growing diversity of Pakistan’s economy.
