Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar’s mission to provide homes for families of police martyrs is ongoing. Continuing this mission, IG Punjab handed over a house to the family of another police officer who embraced martyrdom while performing his duty. Sharing the details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that the family of martyred Constable Zia Akhtar has been provided a house worth Rs. 13.5 million. The house was purchased in Joharabad, Khushab, according to the family’s choice. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that Constable Zia Akhtar embraced martyrdom earlier this year during an encounter with a dangerous dacoit and drug dealer gang in the jurisdiction of Police Station Quaidabad. The heirs of the martyred constable include his wife, two sons, and one daughter. Through the special efforts of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the Government of Punjab released funds for the house of the martyred constable’s family. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid rich tribute to the eternal sacrifice of Constable Zia Akhtar, IG Punjab said that Constable Zia Akhtar embraced martyrdom while performing his duty without caring for his own life. IG Punjab further said that Punjab Police will never forget the immortal sacrifice of its brave son. He added that Punjab Police is the custodian of the legacy of more than 1,700 martyrs like Constable Zia Akhtar.
