Editor Report

Lahore:Punjab Police remained on high alert at churches across the province, including Lahore, in view of Christian prayer programs/services. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while ordering RPOs and DPOs to enhance security arrangements for churches, said that supervisory officers should personally check the security arrangements of churches and important places, while additional police personnel and snipers should be deployed at sensitive churches. He further said that Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Teams should conduct effective patrolling around the churches. IG Punjab said that the deployed police officers and personnel should remain highly alert and keep a strict watch on mischievous elements. IG Punjab further said that search and sweep operations should be continued around churches, Christian populated areas, and sensitive locations, while religious scholars, the Christian community, and members of peace committees should promote interfaith harmony.
