Vehari: In a major operation by the Anti-Corruption Establishment Vehari, Secretary Union Council of the Local Government Department, Dr. Muhammad Akram, son of Ali Muhammad, was arrested red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000. According to the details, Anti-Corruption Circle Officer Mansoor Khan and Muharrar Police Station Muhammad Abu Bakr Alvi, acting under the supervision of Civil Judge Magistrate Buriwala (Rest. No. 31 on page 7), arrested the accused on the spot and recovered the bribe money. According to anti-corruption officials, a case has been registered against the arrested Secretary Union Council and further investigation has been started. According to sources, more revelations are expected during the investigation. The people of the area have appreciated the timely and effective action of the anti-corruption team and said that such steps are commendable for eliminating corruption and promoting transparency.
