RAWALPINDI:Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan Rear Admiral (Retd) Fred Senaviratne has praised the Rawalpindi Police for ensuring foolproof security arrangements during the ongoing Pakistan–Sri Lanka cricket matches at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.According to a police spokesperson, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani received the envoy upon his arrival at the stadium on Tuesday night and briefed him about the security measures in place for the matches.The Sri Lankan High Commissioner commended the professional competence and dedication of the Rawalpindi Police, describing the arrangements as exemplary and reflective of Pakistan’s commitment to the safety of visiting teams.During their interaction, the High Commissioner and CPO Hamdani discussed bilateral relations and the promotion of cricketing ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.The CPO said the Rawalpindi Police played a key role in the revival of international cricket in the country and remained fully committed to ensuring the best possible security and administrative arrangements for all national and international public events.Pakistan and Sri Lanka played the first One Day International of their three-match series on Tuesday.
