ECOSOC, one of the six main organs of the United Nations, plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable development, advancing social progress, and fostering international cooperation. As a member of ECOSOC, Pakistan will have the opportunity to contribute to policy discussions, propose initiatives, and collaborate with other member states to address pressing global issues.

Pakistan’s successful election to ECOSOC reaffirms its position as a responsible global actor committed to multilateralism and promoting the well-being of its citizens and the international community. With its rich experience and diverse perspectives, Pakistan is poised to contribute meaningfully to ECOSOC’s efforts in advancing sustainable development goals and addressing global challenges, such as poverty eradication, climate change, and gender equality.

During its 11th tenure, Pakistan is expected to actively engage in ECOSOC’s work, leveraging its expertise and diplomatic influence to advocate for inclusive economic growth, social justice, and the well-being of marginalized communities worldwide. The country’s re-election to ECOSOC further strengthens its voice on the global stage and provides an opportunity to foster partnerships and collaborations for the benefit of all.

Pakistan will assume its 11th term as a member of ECOSOC in 2024, and its representatives are ready to embark on this important responsibility to contribute towards building a more equitable and sustainable future.
