Naval Chief’s visit to Bangladesh concludes, meets senior military leadership

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf concluded his official visit to Bangladesh with a series of high-level interactions with senior military leadership. The visit of CNS was planned concurrent to the port visit of PNS SAIF at Chattogram, said a press release issued by Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy) on Thursday.

During the visit, the Naval Chief called on Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan and Principal Staff Officer Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General S M Kamrul Hassan.During the meetings discussions on matters of mutual professional interest, regional maritime security and avenues to strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries were held.The interactions underscored the need to strengthen the bilateral relations and highlighted the shared commitment towards promoting peace and stability in the region.The Naval Chief also visited National Defence College (NDC), Bangladesh where he interacted with the President NDC and faculty members. During the visit, a detailed briefing was given highlighting the mandate and important programs of NDC, Bangladesh.While in Chattogram, Commander Chattogram (COMCHIT), Commander Bangladesh Navy Fleet (COMBAN) and Area Superintendent Dockyard (ASD) made calls on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
THE Naval Chief also visited Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA) where he interacted with the Commandant and faculty members.

He appreciated the high professional standards of BNA and emphasized the importance of academic excellence, collaborative prospects of naval training and need of advanced training for naval forces in the evolving maritime domain. Onboard PNS SAIF at Chattogram, a reception was held, attended by CNS Bangladesh Navy who was warmly received by CNS Admiral Naveed Ashraf along with Pakistan’s High Commissioner Imran Haider.
The gathering included diplomats, senior military officials, scholars, journalists and business leaders reinforcing the commitment of peaceful cooperation in the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean Region.
This milestone visit symbolises a renewed chapter in fostering mutual respect, bilateral naval collaboration and contribute to strengthening maritime security cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
