During the meeting, officials briefed participants on the ongoing rehabilitation and upgradation work in various residential sectors and commercial marakiz. The projects include repair and renovation of parking areas, improvement of footpaths, and the upgradation of commercial and Class-III shopping centres.Emphasising sustainable urban mobility, the CDA chief directed authorities to construct bicycle tracks along existing footpaths in different areas of the city.He also called for the development of pedestrian tracks in major commercial centres to facilitate safe and convenient movement for residents. In a parallel move, the authority has intensified its focus on urban management and enforcement.Randhawa ordered the immediate removal of all illegal constructions and encroachments from residential and commercial areas, signalling a renewed crackdown to restore public spaces. The meeting also reviewed plans to modernise city infrastructure, including improvements in signboards, lane markings, and the expansion of digital parking systems.Regular landscaping and maintenance work will be carried out to enhance the aesthetic appeal of sectors and commercial hubs.Special attention will be given to repairing critical infrastructure such as manholes, kerb stones, and sewerage and drainage systems, which have long been a concern for residents in several areas.Highlighting the importance of city image and cleanliness, the CDA chairman directed officials to prioritise the beautification of Islamabad’s entry points and ensure improved sanitation standards across the capital. He stressed that timely completion of all development works and adherence to high-quality standards must be ensured, adding that the provision of modern amenities and the overall beautification of Islamabad remain top priorities for the authority.
