ISLAMABAD: Presently Pakistan is facing energy crises, shortage of natural gas. MOL has been discovered approximately twenty-two million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) gas reserves in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), it has learned Wednesday.
Gas reserves were discovered in Tal joint venture at Tolanj West-2 development at Kohat.
These reserves were discovered in a period of 89 days after excavating 4 thousand, 150 meters by highly professional petroleum experts.
The source said that only 200 meters of pipeline from the gas-well will have to be established for connecting to the main supply line of SNGPL.
The discovery of gas reserves will help the country save approx. 60 million dollars per annam. Additional gas supply will be added to the national system after completion of some of technical work.
An energy expert says that this discovery will contribute to improving the energy security of the country from indigenous resources and add to the hydrocarbon reserves base of the MOL Company.
