ISLAMABAD: Nanbais of the federal capital Friday increased the prices of roti and naan.
The price of naan has been raised to Rs25 from Rs 20 and the roti rate reached Rs20.
Addressing a press conference, the Nanbai Association Islamabad office-bearers threatened to shut their business if the admin intervened in the matter.
“We cannot sell roti and naan at cheap rates after buying expensive flour. Gas bills have gone up, everything is getting expensive,” they added.
Despite repeated warnings by the association to the government for increasing the prices of roti and naan, the government raised flour rates.
The Nanbais said that prices of fine flour and refined wheat flour have increased by Rs1,500. The association said that the gas tariff too surged from Rs11,300 to Rs16,000 per cylinder.
