ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital police apprehended 16 criminals and drug peddlers including in criminal activities and recovered drugs, liquor and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people.
Following these directives, a Phulghran police team arrested an accused namely Shahzaib and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. Sangjani police team arrested two accused namely Ahmed Subhan and Muhammad Ali and recovered one 30 bore pistol and 1120 gram hasish from thier possession.
Similarly, the Karachi Company police team arrested an accused namely Hamza khan and recovered one iron punch from his possession. Khanna police arrested two bootleggers namely Asif and Sajjad Sohail and recovered 192 bottles and 240 liters liquor from their possession.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During a special crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders police teams arrested 10 accused different areas of a city.
DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
