ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (NNI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Monday filed petitions in the Supreme Court, seeking registration of a case about attack on the party chief Imran Khan on Nov. 3.
Imran Khan was injured in a gun attack in Wazirabad, Punjab, during the long march.
Besides Islamabad, PTI leaders filed petitions in the top court’s Registries in Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi.
The petitions sought constitution of a judicial commission to investigate the assassination attempt on Imran Khan, the murder in Kenya of senior anchor Arshad Sharif and the incident related to Senator Azam Swati.
Party’s central leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, former chief minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, Shafqat Mehmood and other PTI leaders submitted the petition in the Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry.
Deputy Speaker Mehmood Jan, provincial ministers and MPAs submitted a petition in Peshawar Registry of the apex court.
PTI had rejected the FIR registered by the Wazirabad police.
Imran Khan wants FIR against the prime minister, the interior minister and a senior intelligence official.
Imran Khan and several other PTI leaders were injured after a man opened fire near the PTI reception camp at Allahwala Chowk during the party’s long march.
In the firing incident on Imran Khan’s container in Wazirabad a party worker was killed and 14 people including Imran Khan were injured. NNI
