RAWALPINDI: The Formation Commanders Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday, pledged to take action against individuals involved in a politically driven rebellion against the state. General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, chaired the conference, which included Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army.
During the conference, the attendees paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the nation’s fallen heroes. They also discussed prevailing security challenges, both internal and external, and evaluated the army’s operational readiness to counter evolving threats. The incorporation of structural changes and advanced technologies was highlighted as a means to enhance operational preparedness and logistical infrastructure in line with emerging security requirements.
General Munir reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, emphasizing the strong bond between the people of Pakistan and the Armed Forces. He pointed to the events of May 25th as a demonstration of the nation’s unwavering support for the military.
The conference strongly condemned baseless allegations of custodial torture, human rights abuses, and the stifling of political activities leveled against the Law Enforcement Agencies and Security Forces. Such claims were denounced as attempts to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of the Armed Forces for trivial political gains.
Addressing the efforts by hostile forces to sow societal division through fake news and propaganda, COAS Munir expressed confidence in defeating these designs with the support of the nation. He reaffirmed that individuals involved in desecrating Shuhada Monuments, Jinnah House, or attacking military installations would face swift justice under the Pakistan Army Act and Official Secret Act.
The conference emphasized the futility of distorting facts and using imaginary human rights violations as a smokescreen to conceal the true intentions of those involved. Legal trials have already commenced for the perpetrators and instigators, with efforts underway to hold accountable the planners and masterminds behind the politically motivated rebellion against the state and its institutions.
General Munir stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism and motivation during operations and training, commending the commanders for their focus on the well-being and morale of soldiers. The conference concluded by reiterating their unwavering resolve to make any sacrifices necessary for the security and stability of the country, with the continued support of the people of Pakistan.
