ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training has taken decisive steps to revamp the management of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) by terminating the services of its incumbent Director General.
In an official notification (No.4-18/2011-Edu(FDE)), the competent authority, with approval from the Prime Minister’s Office, has terminated the deputation period of Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali as the Director General of FDE, effective from 31st July, 2023. As a result, Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali will return to his parent department, Arid Agriculture University, Government of the Punjab, Rawalpindi.
Following this decision, Mr. Amjad Ahmad, Joint Secretary (BS-20) at the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, has been assigned the additional charge of Director General, FDE. The Prime Minister’s Office has approved this arrangement through U.O. No.2188/PSPM/2023, dated 31st July, 2023. Mr. Amjad Ahmad will hold this position for an initial period of three (03) months, commencing immediately.
These changes are aimed at fortifying the management and administration of the Federal Directorate of Education and ensuring uninterrupted operations during the transitional period.
