ISLAMABAD: Managing Director (MD) of the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (APPC) has taken decisive action by suspending several employees for alleged discrepancies and irregularities in their conduct. Under the provisions of the (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020, the following employees have been suspended with immediate effect until the finalization of inquiry proceedings against them:
Arshad Majeed Ch, Manager (Accounts), Inamullah Khan, Assistant Manager (Accounts), Usman Younas, Assistant Manager (Finance), Irum Masood, Assistant Manager (Accounts), Naheed Akhtar, Assistant (Accounts), Moazam Javed Khokhar, Special Assistant (Accounts), Umer Pervaiz, Special Assistant (Accounts), Tahir Ghumman, Special Assistant (Internal Audit), Idrees Ahmed, Special Assistant (Internal Audit), Maqsood Ahmed, Assistant (Internal Audit), Haseeb Ahsan, Special Assistant (HR), Afzal Hance, Junior Clerk (HR) and Ghulam Murtaza, Daftri (Internal Audit).
The suspension comes after an internal investigation revealed that these employees were allegedly involved in discrepancies and irregularities within the organization. Furthermore, it has been alleged that they were engaged in fraudulent recruitment practices and favored their own relatives during the recruitment and promotion processes.
The Managing Director of APPC, Mr. Muhammad Asim Khichi, has taken this matter seriously and has ordered a comprehensive inquiry to determine the extent of responsibility and accountability for the alleged misconduct. This move demonstrates the organization’s commitment to upholding transparency and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
