islamabad (DL News )A dinner reception was graced by Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi as a chief guest that was held in honour of Worthy Rector International Islamic University (IIU), Dr. Samina Malik on her appointment. It was hosted by H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President IIU. It was also attended by university Vice Presidents, Deans, DGs and Directors.
During the reception, Education Minister Madad Ali Sindhi offered his congratulations to Dr. Samina Malik on her appointment and expressed optimism about the university’s future under her leadership. He commended IIU for its significant contributions to society and applauded the administration’s efforts in implementing impactful reforms. Emphasizing the importance of research and conferences focused on the attributes of the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH), he encouraged universities to disseminate this knowledge. He also proposed collaboration between Vice Chancellors to discuss and exchange experiences on IIU’s strategic plan to enhance academic excellence and infrastructure development, promising full support.
H.E. Dr. Hathal paid tribute to the services of Dr. Samina Malik as Vice President and said that now her appointment as Rector is a positive development as she has prudent approach with best leadership abilities. He said Dr. Samina Malik is the first female and faculty member who has achieved the post of Rector, therefore her appointment is a historic development as well as a source of encouragement for the academicians’ community. He said the university is all set to embark on a new journey of success as it has made its mentionable place in the international rankings across the world. He added that now the next target is to be among the top 500 universities across the world on highest internal ranking forums. The IIU President also apprised of the vision of the university adding that the focus will be on producing the skilled youth well equipped with advanced requirements of the era. He also discussed the initiatives of digitization, ODL and academic excellence.
On this occasion, Dr. Samina Malik thanked the honorable Minister and the IIU administration for the reception and kind words. She said that the next aim is to achieve the lofty goals that have been set by IIUI leadership for the success of university. She said that she has always been a staunch supporter of merit and rules adding that the IIUI community will find her among the leading ranks to uphold the honesty, dedication and rules. The IIU Rector also praised the leadership capabilities of the IIU President saying that she always found him the supporter of merit, rule and transparency. She vowed to provide her best for the betterment of university.
