ISLAMABAD: In a tale of contrasting circumstances, Islamabad grapples with challenging financial conditions, while officials of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) indulge in opulence. The aviation community is abuzz with discussions about an assembly scheduled for September 26th in Dubai, where the outsourcing of Islamabad Airport will take center stage.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has recently made headlines by issuing advertisements related to the auction of Islamabad Airport. International companies interested in participating in this transformative endeavor have until September 19th to express their intentions to attend the assembly.

However, the decision to hold the assembly in Dubai has raised eyebrows due to the associated expenses. CAA officials will need to allocate funds to cover the costs of this overseas event. Additionally, they will be responsible for accommodating officials, bearing travel and daily expenses, commonly referred to as T&D, during their stay in Dubai.

Moreover, preparations for the airport auction require careful consideration. Securing a suitable venue for the auction is crucial, and arrangements for this need to be made promptly.

The combination of Islamabad’s financial woes and the luxury enjoyed by CAA officials underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in the outsourcing process. As discussions unfold in Dubai later this month, stakeholders will be closely monitoring the developments surrounding Islamabad Airport’s future, hoping for a fair and efficient transition that benefits Pakistan’s aviation sector and its economy.
