ISLAMABAD L: In a crackdown on gas theft, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited’s (SNGPL) task force uncovered a sprawling 1,500-meter illegal gas pipeline originating from the village of Japan Road, Kangota Syedan. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has swiftly initiated legal actions against those found responsible for establishing unauthorized gas networks.
Details provided by a SNGPL source indicate that joint operations were carried out with FIA officials to dismantle the illicit gas pipeline. The clandestine pipeline was discovered in a private housing society near Village Kangota Syedan along Japan Road.
The illegal gas conduit, approximately 1,500 meters in length, was surreptitiously connected to SNGPL’s mainline. The gas facility within the housing society was found to be utilizing this unauthorized pipeline, taking advantage of the improper relocation of gas meters.

The spokesperson confirmed that the illegal pipeline has been successfully dismantled into several pieces. Simultaneously, gas meters that were unlawfully shifted have been disconnected from the site. In a decisive move, the FIA has commenced legal proceedings against the offenders, signaling a robust response to address the situation.
