TAXILA: If the youth today want to shatter the chains of fear at key juncture of their life they should actively participate in debate competitions that would equipped them with the potential to boost their courage and confidence to face challenges.
This was stated by Malik Sohail Akhter- a social personality while addressing as chief guest at a function organized at literary and debating society university of Wah (UoW) on Sunday. A large number of faculty, intellectuals’ poets, writers, educationists, office bearers of Literary and debating society and students were also present on this occasion. He added that participation of students in debates and co-curricular activities to help them discover their hidden abilities and to play role in nation-building. He added that it was an established fact that the best speakers were always the best leaders all over the world. The society organized the event to create awareness about the importance of Literary and debating among the youth especially university students. He highlighted that Allama Muhammad Iqbal, wanted the youth to play a constructive role in leading the nation towards success. While lauding the role of LDS, he said that such society play key role to promote the skills of debate and public speaking throughout the University and practical life. The President of the LDS University of Wah, speaking on this occasion has said that the society aims to cultivate the love of language by enhancing literary imagination and providing a means of self-expression to university students
