ISLAMABAD (DL News) – Police said on Tuesday no educational institution, market or private institution had been closed in the federal capital due to security concerns.
The Islamabad police issued a statement on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, emphasising that the situation was fully under control in the city and there was no disruption in daily routine.
Saying Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan a day earlier had also issued a clarification in a video message, the police have asked people to avoid spreading rumours.
“Islamabad police are all busy to maintain law and order in the city,” reads the statement.
Khan’s statement came after some private news channels claimed that educational institutions in Islamabad had been shut down indefinitely due to security threats.
Khan emphasised that maintaining security was a two-way process requiring active cooperation from the masses.
Encouraging the residents of the capital to remain vigilant, Khan urged them to stay connected with the Islamabad police’s social media handles for timely updates. He also cautioned against giving credence to rumours.
