TAXILA: The candidates of Taxila national assembly constituency NA-54 and provincial assembly constituency of Taxila (PP-12) on Sunday rejected the election results alleging rigging and foul play and demanded early release of form 45 by returning officer (RO). Addressing joint press conference by candidates for PP-12 Saad Ali Khan of PTI, Shahid Nawaz of PPP, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PA) candidate Mudassir Hussain Shah, TLP candidate for NA-54 Muhammad Aslam Khan, JI leader Sarwar Awan led by former provincial minister of PTI Malik Taimoor Masood rejects election results of PP-12 and NA-54 and alleged of “rigging and foul play”. While showing the form 45 available with him, Malik Taimoor called RO and asked candidates to show their forms, if they truly won the election as there is an anomaly of secured votes in the form officially issued and record provided by concerned RO. He said that he along with PTI candidate his mother Azra Masood and candidate from PP-12 Saad Ali Khan waited from 11 AM to 6 AM outside the office of returning officer (RO) but they were not allowed to enter the office and not issued form 47 despite repeated requests. He further alleged that on the other hand, the candidates of rival parties were allowed to stay in the RO office for hours. He said that supporters also staged a protest demonstration outside the office of RO to record their protest over alleged rigging and foul play. He said that he would file writ petitions in high court as well as approach the election tribunal over results and hoped that courts would provide justice. PTI candidate for PP-12 Saad Ali Khan while addressing on this occasion has said that there is anomaly in form 45 issued by polling officers and result announced by RO. He questioned the credibility of the polling process and termed the result as transposition and grimdark of results. “According to Form 45, we emerged victorious; and opponents were defeated. We condemn this manipulation. This is Pakistan’s biggest scam. If this was the intention, why waste the money and time of Pakistanis? This is not an election; it’s a selection.” TLP candidate for NA-54 Muhammad Aslam Khan while speaking on this occasion has said Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi also rejected election results and announced country wide protests and if the PTI local candidates given protest call, TLP local chapter would join the protest.
