ISLAMABAD: Addressing the nation Saturday, the Caretaker Prime Minister underscored the significance of the recently concluded General Elections as a pivotal moment for Pakistan’s democratic journey. In a comprehensive statement, the PM articulated key principles and imperatives guiding the nation through the post-election period.

The PM commended the notable turnout from diverse segments of society, lauding the participation of both genders and highlighting international recognition of Pakistan’s democratic progress. Emphasizing the fundamental nature of democratic processes, the PM urged all stakeholders to embrace the essence of electoral competition, acknowledging victory and defeat as intrinsic elements of the democratic framework.

In response to concerns regarding electoral irregularities, the PM advocated for the pursuit of legal recourse through established channels, affirming the robustness of Pakistan’s institutional mechanisms to deliver impartial justice. This stance underlined the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring transparency in the electoral process.

While affirming the constitutional right to peaceful protest and assembly, the PM issued a stern warning against any form of agitation, violence, or incitement for vigilantism. Asserting the government’s resolve to maintain law and order, the PM assured swift action against any attempts to disrupt public tranquility.

Of particular concern was the PM’s caution against potential threats of anarchy and disorder, which could be exploited by hostile domestic and foreign elements to destabilize the country. This admonition reflected the government’s vigilance in safeguarding national security and sovereignty amidst the transitional phase.

In concluding remarks, the caretaker government appealed for patience and restraint as political parties engage in consultations to form governments at both federal and provincial levels. The PM underscored the importance of fostering mutual understanding and respect among all stakeholders, urging for a smooth and orderly transition in accordance with democratic norms.

The address encapsulated the government’s commitment to upholding democratic principles, ensuring electoral integrity, and preserving national stability during this critical period of transition.
