ISLAMABAD: In preparation for the upcoming Ramadan, the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Sanitation Directorate undertook a comprehensive cleanliness campaign in the bustling fruit and vegetable market of Sector I-11, Islamabad. This initiative, spearheaded by the Chairman of CDA, aimed to enhance sanitation standards and remove encroachments in the area.
Under the strict directives of the CDA Chairman, a focused effort was made to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the Sector I-11 fruit and vegetable market. Led by Deputy Director-General (DDG) of Civic Management, Syed Jawad Hussain Shah, and Director of Sanitation, Mashooq Ali Sheikh, the campaign targeted illegal encroachments and waste accumulation.
Throughout the duration of the cleanliness drive, the Sanitation Directorate diligently removed unauthorized structures erected on pavements, footpaths, and along the downtown bike routes. This proactive measure not only cleared obstructions but also improved accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists, thereby enhancing safety within the market area.
The dedicated staff of the Sanitation Directorate worked tirelessly to collect a substantial volume of garbage, ensuring that the market environment remained clean and hygienic. Additionally, efforts were made to eradicate encroachments, reclaiming public spaces for their intended use and restoring the visual aesthetics of the locality.
The successful execution of the cleanliness campaign underscores the CDA’s commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly environment for residents and visitors alike. As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering a conducive atmosphere for worship and community gatherings. Moving forward, the CDA remains steadfast in its endeavors to uphold sanitation standards and preserve the beauty of Islamabad’s urban landscape.
