Khanzada assesses prices, facilities at utility store

ATTOCK: Member district monitoring committee and former provincial Minister JehangirKhanzada reviewed product quality, facilities, and sales mechanism of the utility stores located in Hazro town of Attock on Wednesday. During the visit, he evaluated the available facilities to the public in various utility stores outlets in the area and he also checked the rate list of utility stores.

During the visit, utility store staff presented a comparative analysis of prices, reassuring the former Minister that essential items such as ghee and sugar are being offered at affordable rates – Rs 335 per kilogram for ghee and Rs 109 per kilogram for sugar. Additionally, he was assured special arrangements for BISP beneficiaries. Furthermore, Mr Khanzada personally examined the quality of pulses and other food items available at utility stores, gathering feedback on their pricing to ensure accessibility and affordability for all citizens.During his visit, he also observed the sales activity, assessed the availability of facilities, and scrutinized the stock of discounted products in various utility stores outlets in the area.During his visit, the former minister also interacted with the public at the utility store to get their feedback in that regard. While instructing the concerned staff, he stressed the need of the inclusivity of the package, emphasizing special discounted rates for both Benazir Income Support Program beneficiaries and the general public.He instructed the utility store authorities concerned to ensure that entitled beneficiaries of the Relief Package faced no problem in availing the facility.

Talking to newsmen on this occasion, he said that subsidized items at the utility stores were the right of the poor and underprivileged segment of society only, and its distribution should be transparent through computerized mechanisms. He added that edible items are available at lower prices at the Utility Stores and the government is determined to maintain these rates.He said that the country will move forward and progress economically under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and Maryium Nawaz. He added that the PML government gave the biggest Ramzan package in history. Responding to a question, Mr Khanzada has said that the present government’s first priority is improvement of the economy.
