Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is diligently performing its duties of serving and protecting citizens on all highways across the province. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that a new phase of departmental promotions has been initiated in PHP, with hundreds of personnel set to be promoted to higher positions based on merit and seniority. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed that PHP teams should enhance field patrolling in their beat areas to be more effective. He emphasized that measures should be taken on a priority basis for addressing legal violations, preventing crime, and assisting and guiding citizens. These instructions were given to the officers during a review of Punjab Highway Patrol’s weekly performance.

Punjab Highway Patrol Headquarters has released the performance report of last week. According to the details, the Punjab Highway Patrol is active in the province, including Lahore, to enforce the laws on the roads and to serve and protect the citizens. During the week, using the e-police post app, PHP checked 712,977 individuals on the roads. During these checks, 126 wanted criminals and court absconders were arrested. 360,392 vehicles were checked, 49 stolen vehicles/motorcycles were recovered. Under the road safety campaign, 51,372 e-challans were issued for traffic violations. As part of axle load management, 9,363 overloaded vehicles were fined, and strict legal action was taken. A total of 21.5 million rupees were collected in fines. Legal action was taken against 229 vehicles for illegal use of gas cylinders. To facilitate citizens, 3,562 driving licenses were issued. 17 missing children were reunited with their parents. 51 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow. Assistance and guidance were provided to 2,070 passengers. 1,248 citizens were provided various services at police service centers. 20 cases were registered for illegal weapon possession, and 289 liters of alcohol were seized from drug dealers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the PHP force for its excellent performance and encouraged them to continue their dedicated efforts with sincerity to ensure smooth traffic flow and effective service and protection for citizens.
