Lahore:On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a rank-awarding ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for officers promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Dr. Usman Anwar, accompanied by senior officers, awarded ranks to 18 newly promoted DSPs.According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the event was attended by a large number of the promoted officers’ parents, children, and family members. Dr. Usman Anwar and senior officers congratulated the promoted officers and their families.IG Punjab remarked that the year 2025 will also prove to be a year of promotions and welfare, with the next promotion boards for Inspectors to DSPs, Sub-Inspectors to Inspectors, and Head Constables to ASIs scheduled for March. Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the vital supervisory role and feedback of DSPs in operational and investigative policing. He emphasized that tackling challenges like security, law & order, terrorism, and religious extremism remains a priority for the police. He also commended the Punjab Police for standing as a solid shield against terrorist elements at border checkpoints and against criminals  in the riverine areas. IG Punjab advised the newly promoted officers to reciprocate the welfare and promotions by serving citizens selflessly and ensuring their fearless protection. He stressed the importance of utilizing modern technology, advanced information systems, and ensuring efficient service delivery and access to justice.The use of digital technology is being ensured to maintain transparency in recruitments, promotions, and postings. The transparent service and promotion structure, along with the Human Resource Management and e-FOAS systems has strengthened trust in the force. The officers awarded DSP ranks include Rehan Zia, Syed Aftab Ahmed, Syed Khawar Hussain, Abdul Majeed, Naseer Ahmed, Asad Mahmood, Muhammad Ashraf, Alim Din, Shahzaib Khan, Khurram Shehzad, Javed Akhtar, Waseem Aslam, DSP Ejaz Ahmed, Babar Shaukat, Amir Iqbal, Khalid Mahmood, Abdul Ghaffar, and Muhammad Ziarat. Senior officers attending the ceremony included Additional IG Welfare & Finance Imran Irshad, Additional IG IAB Imran Mahmood, DIG Headquarters/MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younas, DIG Establishment-I Sulaiman Sultan Rana and DIG Establishment-II Captain (R) Liaqat Ali Malik.
