Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid glowing tribute on the 6th anniversary of the police martyrs who laid down their lives in the suicide attack at Lahore’s Data Darbar. IG Punjab said that we salute the great sons who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and their families. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, on this day in 2019, five personnel of Punjab Police embraced martyrdom during a suicide attack at Data Darbar while on duty. Among the martyrs were three Head Constables and two Constables. The martyred officers include Head Constables Gulzar Ali, Shahid Nazir, and Muhammad Sohail, as well as Constables Muhammad Saleem and Saddam Hussain, who all embraced martyrdom while performing their duties.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also paid tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Punjab Police Faisalabad’s martyred Sub-Inspector Ahmad Raza. Sharing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that Sub-Inspector Ahmad Raza, In-Charge of Investigation at Bahlak Police Station in Faisalabad, was martyred during a raid when suspects opened fire. The martyred officer, along with his team, had conducted a raid to arrest two proclaimed offenders, Azhar and Rauf, who started firing upon seeing the police party. CPO Faisalabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar said that teams have been constituted for the arrest of the accused, who will be apprehended soon.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid glowing tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Sub-Inspector Ahmad Raza and said that in this hour of grief, we stand firmly with the family of the martyr. He added that the family of the martyr will not be left alone, and their welfare will be taken care of in every possible way.
