Karachi:Former Governor Sindh and spirited MPP Nishan-e-Imtiaz Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has welcomed the luncheon and meeting at the White House in honor of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He said that this meeting is a milestone in Pak-US relations and a success of the current hybrid model of good governance. This is the most important turning point in the 78-year history of Pakistan-US relations. The way in which various issues including international and regional issues were discussed in the meeting is a positive step towards peace in the region. Which will help improve bilateral relations. US President Donald Trump and Field Marshal Pakistan discussed joint efforts against terrorism and increasing bilateral trade in a pleasant meeting in Washington. Which will be better for the country’s economy. Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is the first serving Chief of Army Staff (Field Marshal) to have a one-on-one meeting with the current US President. For the first time, a serving head of Pakistan was warmly welcomed. The US President’s respect and advice to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, without holding a political office, has enhanced Pakistan’s prestige. The presence of Secretary of State Senator Marco Rao, Special Representative for Middle East Affairs Steve Koff and National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik in this meeting from the US side was also a welcome gesture. He said that the US President’s appreciation of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability, appreciation of the strong counter-terrorism cooperation between the two states, and President Trump’s calling the meeting an honor are a testament to the professionalism and leadership skills of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. President Trump’s expression of love for Pakistan is an honor for every Pakistani.
