ISLAMABAD:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Wednesday carried out a grand search and combing operation in various areas under the jurisdiction of Secretariat Police Station as part of its ongoing crackdown against criminal elements.An official told APP that the operation was conducted under the supervision of SP City Zone and included the participation of lady police officers. Before the operation, all personnel were briefed regarding the objectives and procedures of the mission.He said the search operation led to the checking of 470 individuals, 188 houses, and 15 shops. Additionally, 73 motorcycles and 27 vehicles were also inspected during the operation.He said 19 suspicious individuals were shifted to the police station for further investigation, while two suspects involved in illegal possession of weapons were arrested. The police also recovered arms along with ammunition from their possession.He said the objective of the operation was to curb criminal activities and maintain peace in the area. Inspector General (IG) Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has issued special directions to conduct grand search operations across the district to eradicate crime. The public has been urged to cooperate with police officials during the checking process.He said citizens are requested to report any suspicious activities to the police, as ensuring the safety of the public remains the department’s top priority.
