ISLAMABAD,:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested over 1,000 suspected drug dealers and seized massive quantities of narcotics — including heroin, ice, hashish, opium, cocaine, and more than 7,000 bottles of liquor — during the ongoing year 2025.An official told APP on Thursday that the campaign is being conducted under the special direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of the department’s commitment to eradicate drug networks in the federal capital.He said the police recovered 399 kilograms of heroin, 178 kilograms of hashish, over 52 kilograms of ice, more than 6 kilograms of opium, 50 grams of cocaine, 160 intoxicating pills, and 7,246 bottles of liquor during various operations carried out across the city.He said multiple targeted operations were launched to dismantle drug trafficking networks, particularly focusing on those involved in supplying drugs to youth. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, stated that efforts will continue to eliminate this menace and ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.DIG said the Islamabad Police is utilizing all available resources to protect lives and property.
