Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, continues to take significant steps for the welfare of the police force and their families. As part of this initiative, more than Rs. 1.25 billion have been spent on police welfare during the current year. Sharing the details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that over Rs. 394.88 million have been disbursed as educational scholarships for the children of police employees. An amount of Rs. 354.05 million was given as wedding gifts for the daughters of police personnel. For medical treatment support, more than Rs. 187.42 million were allocated. Under the maintenance allowance category, over Rs. 140.5 million were provided to the families of police employees. In the category of retirement grants, more than Rs. 144.39 million were released. For funeral expenses, Rs. 28.5 million were provided to the families of the force. Additionally, over Rs. 9.41 million were disbursed as immediate financial assistance to police personnel. IGP Punjab said that the financial difficulties of employees and their families are being addressed through the Police Welfare Fund and income generated from welfare sources.
