FAISALABAD,:In the light of instructions of the Punjab government, a zero tolerance policy has been adopted against artificial inflation and profiteering in the district.Strict departmental action will be taken against the officers found guilty in negligence in inspections of prices of consumer items.Chairing a meeting of Price Control Magistrates here Wednesday, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Fazal Abbas directed them to inspect prices of consumer items in markets on a daily basis, impose fines on profiteers on the spot to provide relief to the public.On this occasion, an explanation was also sought from the Price Control Magistrates whose performance was found unsatisfactory and it was warned that the protection of consumer rights should be ensured at all costs.
