MUZAFFARGARH:A robber was arrested in an injured condition during an encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) near Basti Noor Pur on Head Muhammad Wala Road.According to police sources, the team was on routine patrol when three unidentified armed suspects on a motorcycle approached from Basti Noor Pur. Upon being signaled to stop, the suspects opened fire at the CCD officials. The police returned fire in self-defense.Following the exchange of gunfire, a search operation led to the arrest of one injured suspect, while two others managed to escape. A 30-bore pistol and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession.Meanwhile, a motorcycle abandoned by the fleeing suspects was recovered nearby which was also snatched in a robbery bid by the robber gang.The arrested suspect was identified as Shakeel Ahmed s/o Abdul Latif, resident of Basti Dhriban, Multan. Police confirmed that he was wanted in several serious cases including robbery, burglary, and theft.A search operation was being carried out to apprehend the fleeing accomplices, police sources added.
