Islamabad:The court expressed surprise at the overseas citizen seeking protective bail without any case. The Islamabad High Court heard the application filed by overseas citizen Tariq Aziz for protective bail. Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the citizen’s application. The court expressed surprise at the request for protective bail without any case and the Registrar’s Office having no objection to it and inquired as to what the case was and why the applicant was seeking protective bail. The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that Anti-Corruption Punjab had sent a notice. The notice also mentions the witnesses, accused and plaintiff, however, there is no copy of the case. Efforts were made to obtain information and a copy of the case but were not found. Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro said that when there is no case, how can we grant protective bail? The court cannot establish a tradition that can be misused later. He also said that the lack of objection from the Registrar’s Office in the absence of a copy or reference of the case is also surprising. Later, on the petitioner’s request to withdraw the application, the court disposed of the case.
