ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have launched a major crackdown against drug peddlers, arresting 12 suspects during various operations conducted over the past 24 hours, on Wednesday.A public relations officer told APP that as part of these operations, police recovered over 12 kilograms of hashish, 4.37 kilograms of heroin, 2.361 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 32 bottles of liquor. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth several million rupees in the local market.First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against all the accused, and large-scale investigations are now underway to identify and apprehend the broader network of facilitators involved in drug trafficking.The spokesperson said that the Islamabad Police, under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, are committed to eradicating drugs and safeguarding the future of the younger generation.“No element will be allowed to endanger the lives of our youth,” the official added. He also urged the public to report any suspicious activity related to drug trafficking, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
