ISLAMABAD:Director General (DG) Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar on Wednesday visited the digital control room established under the Safe City Project and reviewed the services provided by operators, the surveillance system, and the measures being taken to ensure the security of citizens.An official told APP that the DG was briefed on the advanced technology installed in the control room, the citywide camera network, and the real-time monitoring mechanism. He also closely examined the operators’ response, the reporting system, and staff performance during various emergency situations.On the occasion, Shakir Hussain Dawar appreciated the efforts of the existing staff and issued directives to adopt a coordinated strategy to further improve the system and ensure timely redressal of citizens’ complaints. He said that the protection of citizens’ lives and property was the foremost priority, and projects like Safe City played a key role in achieving this objective.The DG directed the team to further enhance their professional capabilities in line with modern requirements, adding that such inspections and performance reviews would continue to make the system more effective and transparent.
