Lahore:On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, weekly general parades were held across the province. Senior police officers inspected the parade while the parade contingents presented the salute. Personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, and officers and officials from Investigation and Operations wings of police stations participated in the general parade. Senior officers also checked the turnout of officers and officials participating in the parade. The well-organized contingents of personnel participating in the parade performed a march past. Women personnel also participated in the general parade.According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, general parades are now being regularly held across the province every Monday. District officers also conducted inspections of the armoury (Kot), Motor Transport Wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouses, and other sections. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the purpose of the general parade is to keep personnel alert and to maintain an atmosphere of discipline, unity, and camaraderie among the force. He further said that a parade is the best demonstration of discipline for any force and helps officers and officials maintain physical fitness. Dr. Usman Anwar added that the parade reflects the history, heritage, and traditions of the police force.
